I have met scores of parents over the years who’ve wondered if they were “doing the right thing” when dressing their twins. Should they match? Should they not match? Take some advice from a (well-) seasoned mother of multiples.
Do whatever YOU think is right, not what everyone else thinks. However, do yourself a favor … reconsider becoming a “matching maniac” like a woman I knew from my multiples club. (I hope she doesn’t read this! LOL)
This mother had triplet girls and insisted on matching her daughters every day, all day. I am talking 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year!
Each girl’s outfit always looked exactly like the next and the comical part was when one girl had a diaper explosion or spit up catastrophe, they all got changed!
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always thought matching is cute and fun, but unless you have boundless energy, along with an endless supply of matching outfits and a personal laundry valet, don’t feel the need to clone your clan every minute of every day.
Not only are you creating even more work and stress for yourself, but you’re guaranteed to leave a lasting impression on those who know you … who will always remember you … for years to come … when they are writing their blog.
